Calling For a Fresh Approach

The Global Alliance for Ministries and Departments of Peace calls for a fresh approach to resolving international conflict.

These documents are based on the principles outlined in the Fresh Approach Principles.

In particular, we call urgently for the non-violent resolution of the growing conflict involving China, France, Germany, Iran, Russia, the United Kingdom, the United Nations, and the United States of America.

We can all help bring about a change for peace and nonviolent resolution of conflict, and we encourage everyone to take action now:

  • Inform yourself about the issues
  • Sign a petition at Negotiate-Peace.org to support this call for nonviolent resolution in this situation
  • Contact political leaders
  • Talk with others and take other action steps for peace
  • Know who are the professionals in peacebuilding and conflict resolution in various countries around the world.

The Global Alliance for Ministries and Departments of Peace welcomes the proposal by President Ahmadinejad of the Islamic Republic of Iran for “new solutions for getting out of international problems and the current fragile situation of the world”, the first letter from an Iranian head of state to an American president in 27 years.

Note: The documents were issued during the period when the Global Alliance for Ministries and Departments for Peace was named International People’s Initiative for Departments of Peace. This does not impede their use.

Responding to the growing distress with respect to the current situation in the Middle East, the Global Alliance for Ministries and Departments of Peace calls for a Fresh Approach.
